Dylan turns 1! Or....look what I got to do.....Yippee!!

So, my friend Amber's son turned 1 July 1st.  She was very excited about planning the perfect birthday party for the little man.  While she was researching some super cute decorations she showed me some pics of cupcake toppers she liked....I said "I could make those for you."  Little did she know I would go bonkers!  She got ADORABLE party decorations at Target.  It is Little Monsters.  Very cute!  I horned my way in to make a little high chair banner for little Dylan and then surprised him (well really her :)...) with a little monster t-shirt I embellished.

Here's some shots and breakdown of my small contribution to the decor....

 The cupcake toppers where made using the Celebration cartridge!

 I layered vinyl on the front for the party monster cut from the Mini Monster's Cartridge.
I used the Mickey Font cartridge for the name on the back.

 On the high chair banner I used Mini Monsters and Mickey Font again.
I used a different Cuttlebug folder to emboss each pennant.  I embellished them
with some SEI Monster Googley Eyes, some korker ribbon, some orange pom-pom trim
(a gift from Dylan's mom) and a sticker set I got at Target that matched the decorations

Well, I was feeling super bad about horning in and inviting myself to help out with the decorations, but both mommy and Grandma were pleased.  They showered me with very thoughtful gifts (crafty stuff! and a gift card) in way of thanks. I was happy to do it and happy to share it with you!  Thank you, Amber, for sharing your pics with me!  Dylan is a cutie!

On the Road Again....Easy Garbage Pail

This month's challenge for the Cricut Circle is to make something useful for your car on those Summer road trips.  No matter what I always seem to have bunches of trash...add in other people and it gets to be a problem....So I made this little garbage pail.  I live in Texas and the year I started driving Texas came out with the Don't Mess with Texas campaign...So of course I had to do that on one side using the 50 states cartridge for the Texas cut, the star and letters from Cake Basics....Used the Cricut Decals cartridge from the E2 Expression and Plaintain Schoolbook for the other side.  I used high performance vinyl, so the pail can be used for many other things....like hitting the beach....

Crop Swag Bag Give Away!

Hosted my first crop at my home this past weekend!  Had a blast despite a few mishaps (including the power going out for an hour while I was baking chicken).  We had a great time and managed to eat, eat, eat; even with some dried out chicken (I was so embarrassed). 

So, I thought it would be fun to have another first....My first give away on my blog.  I will be giving away a swag bag like I gave out at my crop.  Your choice of Cricut green, purple or pink.  The mini tote will be tricked out with the little girl bug head (a fav of mine) and your name on one side and your choice of phrase from the Cricut Everyday cart on the other.  It will also include some color coordinated items and other swag.  Check it out!

Cricut and Vinyl - love it!

So, I had the great opportunity to teach a small class on making T-shirts with heat transfer vinyl over the weekend with a local scrapping group, Murphy Scrappers.  I'm collecting pictures of the shirts made by the group here.

I met Kim (Bling Dazzler) on Thursday night before the Stampede at a dinner at Babe's.  I told her about my shirts and offered to make her one to.  So, I made this for her at the Stampede Friday night.

I won this Flair Pin Set at the Luncheon on Friday before the Stamped.  I broke up the set and sold them individually.  Then bought a Yudo and some accessories with my earnings, so it is like I won a Yudo.
